sewing & wine...

go hand in hand. sewing makes me so nervous because i am afraid to "mess up" that piece of fabric. it takes me hours to pick fabric for a particular project. wine helps. just saying.

here are a few photos of what i've been working on lately:

messenger bag for my sis-in-law's birthday

pile o' goodies from "craft day #1" with Ren & April
(boppy pillows w/ removable cover, crib sheet, freezer paper stencil onesie)

haven's first day of "school" (mom's morning out).
i made his super cute lunch bag.

these tiny owls are the cutest things i've ever seen in my life.
these were made for a friends baby shower

tree applique burp cloth, owl applique onesie, and crinkle tag blanket.
these were paired with the tiny owls for friend's baby shower.

and that's about it. next project, organizing my craft room (which is also my guest bedroom)....sigh....

poop.

today i was indirectly pooped on. my son, haven, has been rocking out with the potty training the past 2 weeks. well, today we had a different sort of poop disaster. he managed to get it in the potty. however, unbeknownst to me, he also managed to get it on his hand. which then ended up on his shirt, pants, underwear, my shirt, my pants, & a random towel before i noticed. but he was so proud of his poop that he didn't understand why i was frustrated and mildly freaking out. i love my sweet boy....

i almost forgot this is supposed to be a "craft/sewing" blog, however a mama's gotta brag.  so...... today i made a lunch bag, reusable snack bag, and sippy cup name tag thingy for haven. pics to be posted at a later date (much later, i'm sure). yesterday i had craft day #2 with my girls erin & april. erin is expecting twins in early september so april & i hosted a craft day last month to make baby gear for the twin girls. craft day #1 consisted of 2 boppy pillows & covers, 1 crib sheet, 1 decorated onesie, 1 pacifier clip, lots of laughter & food, and a ridiculous world cup final game. sigh......between craft day #1 and #2, we learned that april is also expecting TWINS!!! i'm still in shock. from the first twins discovery. i anticipate many more craft days in the future for our collective children and their much needed accessories.....

craft day #2 consisted of 1 crib sheet, 1 blanket, 1 changing pad cover, 1 nursing cover, 1 partial applique, 1 broken safety pin, and ham rolls. mmmmmm, ham rolls. sadly my picture taking has been slacking. i guess i will have to post pics of all of these baby items in use.

erin & april, i can't wait for you to be pooped on. it's a right of passage into motherhood. only for you it will be x's 2 :)
